Tow Bar

Hi All

Does anyone know how strong the rear tow and mounts are on a LWB series A Fronty ? only asking because I had to pull a Series 2 Land Rover up a steep slop and lets just say it need a little more than a gently tug and now my rear plate is not square by about 1 cm ..

I’ve now ordered a kinetic rope which I’m hoping will put a little less strain on the tow mounts if I need to pull out old tractors LOL

This is the rear plate when it was just fitted….

A kinetic rope will put more strain on your tow mounts as in effect it acts like a snatch recovery.
Idealy when using kinetic ropes or strops use welded mounts.

I was thing that a kinetic rope would reduce the sudden shock of pulling out a stuck 4x4 because of a stretch action but on thinking about it when the kinetic rope reaches a certain point it won't stretch anymore then that’s when the energy is release... hmm be careful then and don't drive off and a 100mph LOL
