How can it cost soo much?? (injector pump)

Some of you might have seen my thread in the New Members forum about my new Fronty and the problems I've had.

It's a 2.2DTI and the injector pump has gone, luckily the garage that I bought the Fronty from are covering most of the repair cost.

Does anyone know why VX charge £2000+ for a reconditioned injector pump? It's crazy!

Because Vauxhall Motors are greedy & want to make too much profit, the same as the dealers labour rate.

It all adds up.

These pumps are expensive from Bosch, but not that expensive.

Thats way to much, we have seen these purchased for around £600 and about £400 fitted and thats main dealers.

The VX dealers are bumping it up under warranty to make a few pennies.
A friend of my Mrs has a new Astra 18L and they told her the water pump had gone, fair enough, then they tried to charge the warranty company £1400 as they said they had to remove the engine to fix it.

Hi Chaps i work for a Vauxhall Dealer and those comments cut so deep (Only Kidding) your right our retail labour rates are higher than you average excuse the term (FRED IN THE SHED) but in reality very rarely do i charge full retail, and i need to Cover at least £40k of overheads per month just to open the doors, and at the moment people including me are being very carefull with what we spend so we and many other dealers will do discount deals to get the repair work through the doors, i checked the price of those injector pumps and the cost is around £1300.00, like i said in a previous email should any of you guys want original parts pm me and i can let you know what i can get them for

hi all . there is a engineering place in scotland checks them and recondition them ,cant remeber there number maybe in yellow pages takeoff post up they post back got quoted me [£500] ll, look for number and post on here ps guarantee for one year
