Sorry to hear about the redundancy.

I've been through it three times, and I know it can be demoralising.

My advice; take a couple of weeks off, set a date and then start job hunting with avengence.

Sorry to read this, I'm facing something similar, though hoping it won't come to that. Hoping something sorts itself out.

peej39, I know it sounds pessimistic bud but if your worried about your job get looking as soon as possible, get in there before everyone is after the same job.

A few tips for talking to potential employers.

1. tell them you were made redundant last week, even if its been a few. It makes you look keen, who wants someone who has gotten out of the habbit of getting up in the morning? If its been a long time, make a job up, even a market stall or trader, nobody will hire a long time unemployed.

2. Ask about start dates, remember youve been made redundant last week and are getting leu of notice pay. Its only fair you let them know and miss out on whats left to run of the pay out to start a new job, makes you look honest.

3. The company either went completely or removed whole sections of people regardless of ability. I always get suspicious about people who were made redundant as employers often use it to get rid of unwanted workers who they cant sack, this will set their mind at ease.

4. Mortgage, family etc. make them aware you have regular bills you must pay, you wont be missing time, the missus wants a new bathroom etc etc.

All in all do the usuals, turn up on time, look eager. There are a lot of jobs out there, disguised as there are a lot of unemployable people out there.
