sorry if this is a repostthe question is how to i top up my gearbox oil on a j plate 2.3td as the gear stick gets hot on a long ride and i was told this is the problem only pics i can find on here are of pertrol ones with newish gear boxs have got a piece of pipe to fill it up as ive read it on another post somewhere ? and is it o to use 10/40 engine oil as some say yes but others say no and its confusing many thanks in advance

see the following, engine oil in gear and transfer box. only viewtopic.php?f=3&t=19509&p=222636&hilit=+gearbox+oil#p222636 2.3d is same as 2.4petrol 2.2 are slightly different. remove bash plate. main gearbox is easy to drain awkward to fill. Transfer box easy empty and fill. remove filler plugs before draining!! why? because they are very tight.
