Anyone local to my area, help needed.Hello all.
Most of you know me now with my bone shaking frontera...lol. been listing a lot over the last few days. I am just wondering if there is anyone local to me that could have a look at my car. I do not know much about these cars, and I am struggerling with keeping on top of it. My latest worry is, I know my rear leaf springs are shot, and more than likerly the shockers as well, but the car does sit very high for sagging suspension. I was thinking about it last night, and thought, what if this car has been highered for off roading, and I'm about to stick the standard kit back on the rear. I don't want the car looking like it's going up hill all the time. When you look at the car, it looks level, with equal gap on front to rear, between tyres and body. It has a steel plate near the front of the car, protecting radiators, steel plate under fuel tank, and a dent in the left rear quarter. With this in mind I am not sure if the previous owner has lifted the car for off roading. If it has been lifted for off roading, how much by, 1", 2" , I just don't know. I did want to lift the cars hight eventually, just not when I'm spending money on sorting out the rest of the problems the car currently has....... I am really in a fix now, and could do with some expert help. I am prepared to travel, but not to scotland and back....lol. Is there anyone in or near to northamptonshire?????? Many thanks in adavnce. A very confused frontera onwer.
Re: Anyone local to my area, help needed.Im a bit far, but all the protection you mentioned under the car is standard for the Frontera from the factory, they came well spec'd regarding protection, so it hasnt been modified in that respect, If you can get a photo of your rear shackles on the suspension, we should be able to tell if its been lifted at the rear, though if the suspension is sagging as in your previous post I find it unlikely that it has been lifted before.

Thats what I want my truck to grow up to. Very nice frontera indeed.
Re: Anyone local to my area, help needed. It would be unusual if the torsion bars have broken but they do slacken off with age, just tweaking them up would be the best bet.
Eliminate all other possibilities before searching for new torsion bars. Ste
