whats my motor really worth

just a quicky didnt know where to post so stuck it here just a open question really looking to sell my fronty but have no idea what she is worth can anyone help price her .....she is a w reg 2000 2.2dti rs 3door in arden blue with coded bumpers and handles front plastic bull bar with spots ,twin sun roof with air con and full leather full history and 90k ..tow bar but never towed ..factory alloys with good tread tax and test till next year ............

as far far as i can make out you car is worth : new price , £19670
independant dealer : £2285
private sale in good condition £2130
// // // poor condition £1705
and a part exchange £1945
this is only an opinion and you may achieve a higher price than the ones shown .
you also might get a lower price than shown .

i agree with stuart on the price somewere in the region of 2k

My brother has a friend who bought one of those about a month ago, it was the same colour too and it had an asking price of £1500.00, and he managed to get it knocked down to £1000.00. When he told me I was nearly sick as its in beautiful condition.
Area, just outside Edinburgh. Dont know if the area will make a difference.

My bro paid 7.5k for an 03 plate DTI ...but it was immaculate just out of the showroom conditionand only had 25k on the clock

In the 2k to 2.5k area depeending on wether trade in or private sale.

The age just sneaks into the higher tax band so a few buyers may be put off.

Thought it was March 2001 the tax increase was from?

After trudging through loads of adds recently looking for my new fronty. unless you find the right buyer. you wont get over 2k. and i think a realistic price would be 18k, and thats taking the 90k mileage into consideration.

also, with fuel prices high at this time, buyers in the market are genraly looking to down grade to smaller engines, more economical cars.

at the moment, its a buyers market and not a sellers. But you could get the right person come along as i said. but it may take a bit of time, and standing your ground for a month or 2 if you would like to achieve a 2k price.

The new tax bands are only in effect for cars registered after the 1st March 2001. It was not compulsory to measure the necessary figures prior to that date for manufacturers, so whilst most of them did it anyway they do not have anything they can rely on legally.
