mot this fri ona 97 2.2 pet handbrake done wheelbearings new exhaust new all lights ok .whats prone to fail ie bushes ball joints or what to check? cheers charlie 01

mine failed last week on brake pipes corroded, also handbrake grabbing, which according to the garage is a common issue on fronteras and most mot centres let it go

Check your ball joints for splits and play also your cv gaiters for splits, handbrake is common, two years in a row for me that one , fuel line over the rear exhaust is another common corrosion point.
Bang some fuel additive in the tank take the car for an Italian clean ( blast up the motorway, keep revs high ) to help emissions, the rest is as a normal car

while your under there use a wire brush on the brake pipes were they run down the chassis and over the back axle then apply some copper grease,my M.O.T bloke likes to know that,ive had a good check myself
