the clutch is now working the bulk head has been welded up i can now get all gears not just 2nd ,3rd and 4th feels a bit strange but it work now to try it out up salisbury plain on the weekend at least it wasn't the clutch

OOPS! :oops: Didn't see this thread. Like I said on your other post, having the same problem.

Trouble is the 'captive' bolts are just spinning, so I can't just unbolt it to get to the plate :?

(That and I can't physically get in there with my two left arms, 17st bulk, and No.10 shovel hands :oh yer: )

Will let you know how I get on........ Anyone any idea's? (I'd be pulling my hair out, had I any left :D )

Yep, can't complain as I've had it 3 yrs and this is first real problem.

Think if I take seat out first I might be able to get my melon head in there for a better reccee. :D

Update! Thanks for the tips.

Should've got back to you sooner :oops: but this may help someone in the same predicament.

Managed to use half the plate welded back on, and bolted the top half of the pedal box (with suitable spacers) right through the bulkhead into the engine compartment (something Vauxhall should've done in the first place! :wink: )

Now good as new. :dance:
