Black thing under OSF wing?

Hi all, just been looking at the damage to my SWB A sport after a cow wandered into the road. I took off the plastic inner wing panel (with the screws which are carefully designed never to come undone!) to see if there was any damage to the inner wing panel up near the headlight. Ther is what looks like some sort of tank up there-can someone tell me what it is, please?

Hi mate, cheers for quick reply-difficult to tell with the wing in place, but I'd say so. Is it likely to have been damaged by the impact? Truck drives as usual, so I'd guess not?

Hi Red Oktober,
Ive Just had the plastic liner out of mine and it hasnt got a vac resevoir?
I did remove the front wing in my little altercation with the unimog but i just flatened and peeled back the wing but i didnt see one of those there and not when i gave it to my mate to fit the new wing and door.
Any ideas?

I havent checked but pretty sure the brake servo is different on 20L as the 2.8 is run from the alternator so the gubbins will be different.

the vac tanks are on the 2.5tds's and 2.8tdi's ....not sure about the 2.3td's

However i think mines just done a wheel bearing. Hey Ho.
