Hi,
Read quite a few posts on here re poor mpg.
There are a few things, which when you think about them are blindingly obvious.

wrong tyre pressures - each 1 psi out will reduce mileage by .4%

Dirty air filter - anything up to 10% reduction!

Oil needs changing/service needed - up to 5% reduction

Using lights / electrical equipment when not needed - up to 1% reduction

So lets say we have a car with tyre pressures 3psi low on each wheel = 4.8%
dirty air filter = 10%
Needs oil change and service = 5%
Running with headlights/heater/etc etc in daytime = 1%

You are now up to potentially 20.8 % reduction in MPG!

So if your car SHOULD do say 30 mpg, you are now down to less than 24 mpg!

i used to get 23 to 24 mpg and i can live with that but from my new turbo i have 30 to 34 per g . for one of my toys thats just ace old 2.3 td love my truck .

My lwb 2.3td used to give a steady 30mpg but with 3.5" body lift, no front bumper and 33 12.50 15 mt's now only gives 16!! Planning a build on a brava with 44" boggers.........Guess I will looking at single figures!
Its only money.....I would sooner pay twice as much to drive something I liked than be a meany and hate every minute I spent behind the wheel!!

And to add, one thats often over looked sticky brake calipers or sliders, even stick hand brake, they kill MPG performance
