Exhaust Blowing!

My exhaust is blowing at the joint where the down pipe joins the manifold with six bolts

I have the gasket but want lots of advice before doing the job :oops:

They are studs, so you don't want to go snapping them.
I would wire brush them very well and use loads of WD40 before trying to undo the nuts.

Being a mechanic, I prefer to slacken them off when they are hot as the nuts expand with heat. Be very careful though, not to burn yourself and make sure you have sleeves covering your skin.
Also make sure you use a heavy duty hex socket that fits the nuts well.
If you try this, do not spray WD 40 on the nuts when hot.

May try that but will give it the WD treatment for a few days before. Cant hurt can it :?:

Make sure you also use a heavy duty hex socket thats the correct size and the nuts should come away without rounding off.
