Should I buy?

I've been offered a 1998 Frontera sport 2.2DTi. It needs a fuel pump and the head stripping and de-coking (egr crap on the inlet ports), which isn't a problem as I'm competent enough to do these. The best price I've got for the pump is in the £500 region. It's been stood for a long while as it's at a mates garage where it was due to be fixed but the owner couldn't afford the cost of repairs. It' definitely needs a good wash and other tlc, but it's only down 40k miles and it's mine for £250. I don't know what other problems will surface though. I do fancy it especially if I can get it going for summer. Is it a good buy for under £1k and a couple of days work?

An honest answer. If I don't do anything with it in the next month, it'll be weighed in, so I'll keep you in mind if I can't manage it.

well from what i know looking around at truck prices recently, and as you say you can do most of the work, i would say that £250.00 + £500.00 and lest say another £250.00 should you find anyhting else, and for a service, then i think you would double your money anyway. at least.

so i would go for it, as to me you can loose.
