Please can someone help me

frontera 2.3 fuel pipe connector.

Ive only gone and snapped the fuel pipe connector to the first cylinder... :oh yer:

Ive tried to get one from the local scrapers with no luck, Its the small plastic pipe joining the fuel hoses. Two ends and on one side two smaller connections that go to either side of the glow plug..

IF ANYONE CAN PUT THEIR HAND ON ONE ID LOVE TO HAND OVER SOME GOOD ENGLISH POUNDS FOR IT AND THE POSTAGE.

the only problem like normal is needing the part yesterday and never being able to source it that quick. :cry:

If this happend to me in the field i would probably do as you have done so far

Then ......

Cut the black rubber pipe 1.5" from where it joins the larger pipe
Rob the windscreen washer pipe T piece (located under the bonnet near the windscreen)
Fit to the cut ends of the rubber pipe & attach remaining diesel return pipe.

This would get you going as a "get you home fix"
For a more pernament fix rob the required T piece from another vehicle

have you tried a diesel service center they might have something in the stock

if your really stuck you could try a pet shop for the connectors they use on fishtank airpipes just use a couple of T pieces

Any motor factors should sell hte T joints it a very common peice, up until recently I had one in my tool box from a mark one orion 16i ghia :lol:

would be a bit small for yours though.

Failing that, small bore garden irrigation systems use the same things, couple of quid at homebase

Well ive done the repair after walkin in the snow to the garden centre, Can see fuel getting into the pipes again

but engine wont start... Does anyone know any problems that could have risen from not having those pipes connected while engine was still running.(general fuel starvation..? damaged heater plug...? Air in the fuel lines..?etc etc) Thanks
Oh and the repair bits only cost 50p :dance:

Air in the fuel, it will need priming

Basically.. when the breakage happened I put the screws in to seal the leak then because the truck still started I ran it to the breakers and back :oops:

but the following day it wouldnt start..... Now ive done this repair it still wont start. :dunno:

Ive primed the fuel...but still nothing, :cry:

Think I need to bleed it all :!:

Oh well.. its the first motor ive actually got dirty messing about with so its all good stuff.

Just crack off the injectors and pump for a little while on the hand pump... as long as the fuel hasn't managed to drain back in to the tank it should come out of the injectors fairly easily.. And if it's not then crack off the bleed nipple on the side of the pump.

Will give it a go in the morning.. Cant wait to hear it fire up again. There was fuel pumping out the bleed screw on the side of the pump earlier and also from the screw in the centre of the injectors, just need to do it all in the right order... the haynes sez to turn on the ignition to activate the stop solenoid also.

I will have it running tomorrow........ :drive:
