wizzing

hi all , when i'm going along i can hear a whizzing , it goes louder when i rev it . i've had the bonnet up and i still can't work out where the noise is coming from .

Loose belt or fan catching also check air box

Either:
Next doors cat stuck on propshaft

or

Possibly steering pump?

loose inlet manifold maybe :wink:

does it "wizz" when stationary,

If not it could be as simple as a window not up all the way!

If it is comming from the engine bay, then get a short length of tube to "listen" individually to the ancillaries of the engine. A bit like a doctors stethascope.

it only makes the noise when you rev ,checked all the belts there ok , but i have noticed that when the engine warms up the noise goes .

Alternator belt tensioner perhaps? mine did that for a year or so then broke proper, sounded like a wheezing turbo for a while too.
