CB26P

Hi all. Now I don't want to get into anyones bad book but, with the CB26P it doe's work. Having a long lond chat with a nice man at Ecotek regarding the said Item,i m happy to say that it doe's word, now now carm down I can hear some of you saying RUBBISH, but let me tell you how, regard the size of the inlet manafold on the fronty I also thought it won't work because the size of the item and the space inside of the inlet manafold maths didn't add up also coursing a turbulents around a bend on the brake servo which is located on the bottom of the inlet manafold is in pratice no good. but as I said talking tec with Ecotc the maths on the fronty doesn't add up, so i set out finding how or were it would work at my cost and time to me. With time and alot of pipe cutting and positioning I found a answer, fitting the CB26P on the charco canister inlet doe's give the desired acting required to work, the fitting booklet also say's this as well. So on this matter don't fit on the brake servo as mentioned the space in the bottom of the inlet manafold is to big. I also tested the item on road tests and again with Positioning and adjusting I happy to say again it works. Now going to order three more to fit my other cars, if any one is interested im going to test them on my classic cars as well, thanks everyone with your help so far

I'm not rubbishing your findings (always interested to find some way to save fuel or increase perfomrance) but if it does work, why aren't they fitted to new cars as standard ?

Hi yes I did ask the samething, the answer is as it takes time to set the item up on a running car, the car industry wouldn't cover the time and cost for this to happen also the goverment don't want to lose money as well. On my findings how much saving on fuel yet to be worked out, but the fronty feel alot smoother and has abit more grunt on pickup.

I agree, I fettled and fiddled with it for ages and never felt like it had more power or better fuel consumption. All it did was make a nasty whining/grating noise when you took your foot off the accelerator even with the filter attached. Had it on for about 6 months and kept a very close eye on mileage and didnt notice any difference.

I noticed no difference in either power or fuel consumption, and believe me Im kinda anal about these sort of things, and watched my fuel consumption both before and after very closely. No difference whatsoever. Any power increase would be so infinitesimal as to be unnoticeable on a heavy car like the frontera, so a new thought I had was that it may be more suited to a smaller car, or perhaps you would be able to notice a power increase in a smaller car.
