4x4 and car shows...

Postby fudge on Sun Sep 15, 2013 7:50 am

well since i now have the duck.. and i have some free time it is going under more mods as we speck..

but i was thinking about trying to go to as many 4x4/offroad/car shows and promote fog as much as possible...

so i would like to know... what good shows there are around..
and who would be up for coming with me to them..

and as of next year i am planning on having it on 33" muddies, and having some serious flex in the rear... and maybe a new paint job

I tried to get some FOG member to promote the forum at the Adventure Overland show last September there was a lot of interest to start with but it seemed to wane as the show got nearer.
In the end Colley and Scott were the only 2 that showed up on the Saturday.

If FOG wanted a members stand at this years show let me know and I'll get some space sorted in the members area.
It's a bit short notice but I'm helping out setting stuff up the week before and it won't take much to rope off some space if there is some available.
The show is at Stratford racecourse on September the 28th and 29th check out the web site
http://www.adventureoverlandshow.com

Although the show is more about long range extended trips and not mud plugging or laning it may not be to everyone on here's liking but there are some amazing trucks, bush craft demos trade stalls etc and the talks all done by enthusiasts who have been there done that and got the tee shirt are brilliant in fact it was one of the talks last year that got me interested in trekking down to morocco later in the year. It's a good weekend there's no central display area so no twist off ramp or duck herding but loads to see and do, the expedition trucks are amazing and most of the owners will show you there pride and joy and have a chat about where they've been.
I would prefer a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

It would be good to get a few more people interested and get enough trucks for a members stand.
If all else fails Fudge sign up to Overland 4x4 forum and come along on the forums stand.

I will be there but not in a Frontera, King of the kitchen is also there but not in a Frontera and Colley is there on the Saturday
