Just read the wanted thread. What do you mean by may have cooked the engine?

managed to nurse it but temp shot up and engine stalled wouldnt start again till engine cooled down will see how it sounds when i get it back

That will be a semi seizure,not a good sign practically speaking the minimum you are looking at is a re-bore with the associated new oversize pistons & rings,it would also be prudent to to have the head crack tested & skimmed as not all damage is not immediately obvious.

if thats what is needed i'll probably keep my eyes open for another engine
