I have today got an email from the site that they will have 5 hookups available. I've asked what rating they are as we will likely share them.
I've had 12 individual messages about hookups, as there are 5 available people will be required to share, there is no dibs, baggsies or getting there early in order to get one. There will be 'shotguns' if people get silly over them. If you do not want to share you don't get one at all, if you need to run hair dryers, curling tongs and big microwaves then stay in a hotel.
We are all grown ups and will be paying the same prices so hopefully there will be no squabbling on the day.

I'm happy to share as long as I get some sort of power for the fridge and a small heater to take the chill out of the air for when the little one goes to bed

Are generators allowed on site?
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ) Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... I will ask but as it's a family site they may not, if they are 16a do you need more than 8a then?

Most caravan site hook-ups, while the plug n socket may say and be rated at 16A the circuits are normally protected at 10A, so that would be an allowance of 5A per van not taking discrimination into consideration. My van, electrically will be happy sharing so long as I don't run the Microwave at the same time as the electric kettle, toaster, hot water boiler and telly... The genny would free up a connection should anyone need it.

I would like a hook up for simple things like lights and phone charger. No kettles, microwaves, televisions, washing machines, dishwashers, tumble dryers, etc etc. I have gas for heating and cooking.

5A should cover everything I have, the rest can be run on gas if needed. Will they allow a 47kg propane tank

Them as wot's bringing the caravan and looking for a electric hook up as we are likely to be sharing please don't forget to bring one of these or something similar. In the interests of safety and not zapping people no bodge jobs with choccy blocks and tape please! I already keep one in the van as part of it's normal load, so with a total of 5 hook-ups available we will need another four between us.
