Had a fantastic weekend, was lovely to see regular faces, fab to meet people I havent seen before, and great to see new faces turning up too.

My highlight of the weekend was definitely taking Drift and Bobby out in my car (I took them to Makro for food... not in a Fronty), I've never known them so quiet

I am glad you all had a great time as did I.
All the people and smiles make it all worth it.
After all its the people that make our meets a great laugh and social gathering that they are.

This year was no exception, I certainly have been educated by some of the antics of a member

Just a big massive thank you to every one who turned up and even those that couldn't make it but still shown encouragement for the meet.
Next year is likely to be a tad different but just as much fun

I'll second that

I must say that I really enjoyed myself this past weekend. The last couple of years I've been a bit "off", but the self treatment I believe has worked (I hope you agree).

If you arranged this meet, arranged stickers, fetched or cooked or donated food, donated raffle prizes, bought raffle tickets, called raffle numbers, worked on a car other than your own, took photos or video, socialised, shared a meal or drink, transported spares, drove your Frontera under encouragement and went home a little sunburnt, I salute us all.

I curse Snapper for wanting to rain hard so that it would clean his caravan awning - wasn't expecting that hail though :D

Seriously, a fantastic weekend, well done all.

Piccies soon, having to import them the long way.

I just want to know how he managed to waltz off with that much grub from the BBQ
Must've been while I was distracted flipping burgers. Hmmm.....

gregster wrote:...and thanks to everyone who voted the yellafing as most modded truck, the trophy is sitting on my trophy shelf at home with pride...just need to build something else for next year to try and retain it...

I just wish I'd not managed to successfully defend my "most spectacularly stuck truck" title this time. I really didn't mean to, honest. Believe me, it's not fun paddling about in the water at Avalanche in just your socks.

I'll hold my hand up then, eh? On the left is Tara, being piloted by Brian (AKA stretch) and the right is Lara, with yours truly in the driving seat. The big yellow blob is Frank (AKA snapper) who's bloody daft idea it was  We were trying to do some arty-farty type shots of the two half-sisters for Gem, and that suggestion was made. Apparently there was just about room for a fag-paper between us at one point

Now that lot's out the way, time for a better post.
The May Day bank holiday is always the first holiday I book from work (closely followed by the SE weekenders these days) and I've never once regretted making the effort to come along. As ever, I had a thoroughly entertaining time, caught up with some old faces, met some new ones (like Rich, who I've never met since I joined up until this weekend) and generally enjoyed the hell out of it all. Being able to get out on the track with a play toy certainly made for some interesting moments, can't wait to see the pictures. Well, except the ones of me paddling.

Big thanks to Drift & Rich and anyone else who had a hand in organisation, much appreciated as always. Glad I could do my bit by running the BBQ, hopefully everyone came away happy from that one.
On that note, big thanks also to Ian & Marion, not only for making the trip over from Dusseldorf, but for finding room in the SWB for all the goodies that you so generously bring along too :drink:

One more specific thanks, to Tom (part of Gazeddy's crew) who spent the better part of Sunday afternoon underneath various trucks wielding a trolley jack and socket set and changing several sets of springs and shock absorbers. Sophie's ride home was noticeably improved, even before I'd get shot of the trailer.

Apart from that, thanks all round to everyone else who comes along and makes the Annual what it is. You're all nutters, but thoroughly bloody nice ones

It was a brilliant weekend I really enjoyed myself. It was great to see old faces and meet new ones too. A big thank you to Ste for all the hard work he put into organizing this.

Thanks to all those who worked hard to making this the great meeting that it was ie Jim for the BBQ, Cheeky Chick for collecting the supplies, Houndog for the stickers, to our German friends for the spit-roast and getting me drunk lol, thanks for the guys who helped to get the stuck trucks moving again.......thanks everyone!

Thank you to all those who took part in the raffle and hope you enjoyed your prizes.

I had fun in Pete's truck even if it was only for five minutes   soz Pete :D

I have come away with some great memories even if some of them are a bit weird or should I say a lot weird thanks to Fudge

And how can I forget finally meeting Greg and finding out he is an even bigger nutter in person than on the forum. Top bloke, ** * * head, go me nissed, ate my grub :D

Bring on the next one, soz if I haven't mentioned you but you all added to making it a memorable weekend
