looks pretty good for a bridge camera , Your best to look at actual reviews of it though then ask us to translate . looks like its loaded with a lot of good stuff but no idea having that zoom range will affect the quality of photo, if you had that zoom on a dslr camera you wouldnt expect the same quality that you would get with a lens with a smaller zoom range. ( unless you were paying thousands for the lens of cause)

I'm not clued up on Nikon cameras, but:

Some reviews here: http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-COOLPIX-Dig ... Descending

And, "Bridge" cameras - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridge_camera

I had a bridge camera for a three years and very good it was too (Fuji S9600). Eventually I wanted a little more control so bought a DSLR.

That particular camera has some nice features and some others that don't really interest me. If you're moving up from a compact (or even a phone) it should do you ok for a couple of years.

Go to PC World and handle the camera, get a feel for it. Then, go to Jessops and talk to them about it (they specialise in cameras and will be much more clued up and be able to answer your questions in laymans terms).

I hope that helps a little.

Got offered a Canon EOS d7 with a couple of lenses today for £500, looked like a nice camera for the money, apparently is worth over a grand plus the lenses, but the fellas car has just died and he needs a 2.8 lump for it...can feel a swap coming on possibly if these are any good.

Cool...
its got a normal looking kinda 45mm lense  but apparantly does more than that and zooms as well and a grey coloured telephoto that he does his tweety stuff with..that grey lense was quite a biggy, not like the old mirror lenses but a about 1 and half times the size of an 80-200 pk fitment that I had on my old pentax. looked expensive I have to say...
