Been having a little play with trying to upload pics from 'her indoors' Blackberry to the desktop puter. Attached the phone via the USB cable and installed the software - don't know if it got downloaded via the puter or the phone - out of my depth on that one. Software seemed to load OK and even upgraded to a newer version. Then came the problem - it kept asking for a password. Entered what I thought was the password and even tried the phone pin number but nothing got accepted. After the software updated, message came up that phone wasn't connected because it was either rebooting or had a flat battery. Turns out it was rebooting with I think was the upgraded programme level. Then the actual phone came up with the request for the password and that I'm on the last attempt, and if I get it wrong it will wipe the data. So I ring my little mate in India at the Virgin call centre (it's on a Virgin network) for help. He tried his technical mates to no avail because they have all gone home. Because I'm on the last life, it's been left that I ring back tomorrow morning and try a talk to technical direct. She is not happy

Blackberry lets you do that Ste. Pete, no idea what the password is all about. I've updated all five BB's in this house and never been asked for a password

Nows she's really isn't very happy - got in touch with technical support and fella reckoned that only thing I could do was to remove the SIM card, have a go at last attempt. By removing the SIM card it was hoped some of the personal data could be safe guarded - BIG NOPE. Last attempt failed, went into wipe mode and deleted the lot. Nothing stored on SIM guard - guess who's in the dog house big style Brighter side, the phone works - that's after she as re entered all her contacts back into the phone

Cheers alsavs for info. Might be worth a go, but for me, I think the horse as bolted, or her data has. Reckon it will be worth it a try though, because I'll be able to put in a password that I can remember
