Our office is trying to get us to use some kind of usb touch pad thingy so that we can get our customers to sign job cards etc on the laptop instead of using paper job cards and then having to scan them in.
While this is all well and good on jobs where I need to use my laptop and will therefore have it out and powered up anyway, half my jobs see the laptop left in the van so I'll have to mess about getting it out, waiting for it to boot up, etc. To save me some hassle (and about an hour a day) I was thinking of getting one of those nifty little android based tablets and using that instead, but I'm not sure if it will do what I need.
Basically I need it to be able to open something like an .xls file and then let me tap the cell where the signature goes and then save it as part of the document once they've signed it, but I have no idea if this is a workable plan or not having never used android in anger.
The wisdom of FOG would be appreciated
