Laptop Memory Map

Today I came across an old laptop I completely forgot we had, its a Dell Latitude C PPX, well thats what it says on the back.
Its running xp and only has a couple of keys not working :lol:

The idea is to run Memory Map on it for laning, and Im just gauging the cost of what Ill need to do to achive that.

I figure I will need and inverter, cheap as possible and a wired gps unit, dont want to mess about with blue tooth though I do have a bluetooth dongle knocking about.

Would that be all I need and what cost would I be looking at?

weird, dug my old one out, and even started to fettle around with a mount on a swing arm for the car,, just need to find a 9v adapter

its an NMEA type if that will work with MM

If you have got a dvd/lcd unit in the stereo in your fronty, you could always use the video out on your laptop and connect to the display.. so long as it has an av input (might need to convert svga to svhs or composite if laptop hasnt got video output).
That way the laptop could be located remotely and the screen on the stereo/dash used...

I have a Ram Mount in my 2.8 for a Samsung Q1 running XP amd MM

To power it I bought an inverter from Maplins for £20-, but they also do power adaptors for laptops that plug into the fag lighter

tesco's have got inverters in mate ones that will run a laptop and slightly more powerful ones prices start at a tenner mate
