quite a few things ain't right. in the discussions bit (general), the 2.2petrol bit isn't right and the chat bit that opens up a new window. i get the feeling i've upset a couple of people on here, and it's affected my 'status' (if there's such a thing). and is it right that the A series section has no posts???

You are going to need to be more specific for us to help you...

If its coming up "connection failed" then its doing the same for me...

Yep, same for me...I think the posts that were in that now defunct section are in the relevant other sub catagories that are more specific than just A series in general.
ie C20ne engine section for engine probs etc

So I dont think anyone is out to get you or anything...give me some more details on the first couple of points you raised and I will try and help.

well, as you look at the screen, you got the wide bit at the top with the FOG logo at the left. then below that, you got the home<board index etc.
when i click the chat,links, bit, i haven't got permission. but when i then click the general discussion bit thats listed in the topics main bit, i do. hehe.

glad that it's not just me on the chat (new window) bit. don't use it much, but i like the fact that it is there.

i think i may have upset a couple of people because i am a bit 'sheldon'. social interaction isn't one of my strongpoints, and as he says "i'm not insane, my mother had me tested"

That's intended as far as the permissions go. It's done that way to keep things tidy, no more sinister reason. Think of the forum like a filling cabinet - the board as a whole is the cabinet, each major group of sections is a drawer, then each section therein (say a particular engine, etc) is a hanging file. You don't want loss of stuff floating around unsorted as you'd never find it, hence the arrangements. There's nothing in the generic "engine" category, it's all filled under the relevant type
