Pc issue with windows?

My run of bad luck is continuing :twisted:

My notebook that i use to run memory map has decided to start playing up. Looking for a bit of advise.
The problem is every time i turn it on i get this screen.

The computer has also started shutting down on its own and i have also lost saved data on the desktop (Strata overlays) looks like i will have to do them
again :evil:

The notebook is running vista if that helps. I think it could be windows issue.
Any help would be much appreciated :wink:

Hi,

Go into the BIOS select "load setup defaults". Press F10 to save and quit then reboot.

Try that.

Alternatively, you could look for a later BIOS that the one that you have.. if there is one, install that, load setup defaults and save/reboot.

If it keeps doing it you may need to replace the cmos battery.

Is not connected to the internet as its only used to run memory map :wink:

In computers you have a battery that is used to maintain some settings, time etc.

If this gets old then you may see issues like the one you see here, where the configuration is lost. On the PC's they are usually CR2032 type button batteries. On Laptops they do vary a fair amount. but will almost certainly plug into the motherboard somewhere. You can "usually" see or get to them via access panels on the laptop.

Like, where you would add more ram, or in the same area as the disk drive, but it really will vary depending on what it is. Sometimes you cant see them at all.
