anyone Interested in a meet?

Postby gotafrontera on Fri Jun 22, 2007 10:12 pm

Well what im trying to do here is get an idea how many people might be interested in an event of sorts over this side of the country?

at this time im open to ideas as to what this event could involve.
it could be a P&P (andies farm) or take in some of the fords around mid-south-west wales and even some green lanes. (theirs a few about i believe are legal to drive.)

Hey why not try everything lol.

With a little planning im sure there could be a great weekend to be had so give me your ideas

Hi Luke, Great idea, I would like to meet the usual suspects.

I don't really want to beast my Fronty but I would welcome a monthly o Bi monthly meet, perhaps a pub lunch somewhere, just like the Midlands / Hampshire possy big up to dem lol, it can be done though.

I might try some light off roading but would really like to try green laning or driving though fords as long as they are not to deep.

Come on people lets see what ideas we all can come up with, if we can start meeting on a regular basis, this will put us all in good sted to travel up in a Team Wales convoy for the World Record Attempt.

with mats help we can sort out a fording run with a pub lunch thrown in

ill try and get out to check out some lanes down here and mid wales to see how easy they will be and if there non damaging then it should be easy to make a day out if it.

Hello All,

Yes, up for a meet.

We are the same as Reeco with regards to location & conditions, green laining or fording, any non-damaging as she is the family as well. I think some fording could be fun as we can piccies & vids for the site while we are at it.

Any ideas for a date?.....My proposal....Saturday or Sunday of the August bank holiday. The only concern with these dates is the amount of traffic on the road!!

Cheers,
Huw.

Thanks for the replyes so far.

it looks like the best thing is going to be fording/laning with a social aspect thrown in by means of a pub.

The fording side of things i think ill ask mat about as thats his thing lol, but the laning im going to need to check out some lanes.

Im thinking that most the lanes will be in mid wales but there are a few i want to look at over neath way.

once i get a rout of drivable lanes im hoping to put a circuit together with a mix of lanes and fords taking in south and mid wales that should give us all a good day out.

as for dates im stuck with the August bank hol as ill be away in angle sea for the bike show.

so if anyone can think of dates that are good for them and see what comes of it.

Hi Luke,

Bank holiday weekend was only a suggestion........We are available most weekends. Off on hols during the 3rd week in July so this is the only date that we won't be able to make.

Cheers

All sounds good to me. We will have to sort out a date tho, as im still tied up for a few weekends over the summer.

All the fording routes i have done are non damaging, so good for family vehicles

These routes are south / mid wales. Mainly around the Towy Valley but some are further north and east.

Ill leave the lanes to you Luke, but if im free ill come and reccie them with you if you like :D

Meet sounds great. Although mine is my only car, I'm happy to try anything. Yep I am just crazy. I also don't have a wife to shout at me...

If you want a hand with the reccy, let me know.

Would be up for some off road action.

When the frontys fixed.

If we go to andys farm there plenty of areas that are not damaging for people that, dont want to push the 4x4 to hard.

He's fine, just emigrated to his caravan in west wales. Nice place, just no internet unless he dials-up through his mobile. 9.6kps is not a great thing for surfing the forums!

Think he is back home now and will be returning to normal service again shortly....

I also think he was a wee bit upset after our pay n play event the other weekend as he's gone and bought himself a SWB cos his 2.4 LWB struggled in parts against the might of the 2.0 sports

Luke / All,

One last request, please try to give us as much notice as possible as we will probably need to book the hounds into the kennels. They don't travel too well!!

cheers,
Huw.
