Has anyone considered speaking to vauxhall? Who knows, they may be able to do something seeing as its basically free publicity?!? Maybe some freebies etc

Sounds like a really good idea mate, vauxhall would probably want to be a part of something which would give them soo much publicity that i don't think they would say no to it

Hi All, I think we are starting to collectively think about a lot of positives for a lot of people from this event, publicity for vauxhall, 4 x 4 mags trying to get the exclusive on how it all came about, collecting money for charities, publicity for the venue and that's just touched the surface, maybe vauxhall can make a donation to the site for the years of excellent service this website has given Fronty owners, maybe the 4 x 4 mag also could make a donation for the rights to cover the story. This story could be potentially massive, news papers would want to run it, radio stations would want to do the same, all excellent publicity for the Fronty and the website.

I think Admin would have the best chance of trying to get someone to make a donation to the site for the rights to get exclusive info and stories of the attempt.

Maybe I am thinking above my station but sometimes my mind just goes off on one, I can't help it. Shall we say I am one of lifes big optimists.

I have PM'd Cyb asking him to work his magic and come up with a flyer that we all could download and leave on the widscreens of Fronty's where we all live, just making them aware of this site and The FOG World Record attempt.

Bobbinsjob expect a PM from CYB as soon as he reads my PM. ATB. Reeco

:ggod post:

To all,

I am overwelmed by the amount of interest and support shown by you guys. Something that started out as a bit of ribbing between a boy racer and a mud hunter sparked an idea which has now turned into possibly one of the biggest things to hit the 4x4 calendar since Hanibal took an elephant with a 3" lift kit across the mountains.

Like Reeco says, with a little effort from everyone we could draw some real attention to our sport, the website and our commitment to helping other motorists and charities.

Hats off to everyone and I can't wait till it all comes to fruition. (started waxing Angelina 2 days ago so come the day, she will be like the blue lagoon on wheels).

:well done: :well done: :excited:

please don't make me wash and polish 'big gay al'.....

on a serious note, maybe this could become in some way a positive message to all the 4x4 anti's out there, that we are in fact not the spawn of satan... the custom bike guy's put on a lot of rallies and shows for charity and it has helped their cause and peoples views and attitudes towards bikes and bikers a lot. At this moment in time we 4x4 guys really need all the positive feedback we can get...

Guess i'm saying that lets go out of our way to make this as big, friendly, positive and as publisized as we possibily can..

anything anyone of us can do to help, no matter how small, we sure should..

Had a thought whilst i was at work today (doesn't happen very often)...

If this does happen and it ends up being well publicised etc will there be a need to worry/consider anti 4x4 protestors turning up too?

i think what we are trying to do is a great idea, but its going to need all off us to pull together, use any resources thats to hand, whether through our jobs or hobbies.

reading all the posts, and ideas that going about, and up to now, all ideas have been great, there is none that cannot be done.

what it needs now to take it to the next level, we have the idea of what we want, and a third of the way in getting the numbers we need.

but to pull this off, as in every venture, its now time to come up with a plan, put the suggestions to practice, and get them all followed through.

if one suggestion gets missed, it could mean failure, so what i suggest, is that a committee of some type is formed, all the suggestioned should be listed, and let us members then take each suggestion on board, and say i will get that part done.

we cant leave it all to a couple of people, its to much to ask. whether it be recruiting, flyers, the venue or what ever.

lets set a thread up, for the suggestions of what is needed, then, we as members can put our names forward, based on the resources at hand, to complete that part of the puzzle so to speak,

Question, we have had 5600 views on the record attempt, yet we only have 114 signed up for this! don't add up???.
I,m sure we have more than 114 members with fronties, don't we? or are the rest just boring sods.

i think alot of the views are us lot coming back to check on posts, yet i agree with what you say, also i guess some people maybe past owners of frontys and still come back for a read.

i do think there should be more, maybe they will come forward when the time date and location are set.

we are a good set of peeps on here and i guess they dont want to sign yet incase they cant make it in the end through work or other commitments. and let everyone down. which i admire.
