Rear drums locking up

Postby Shannos on Sun Jan 15, 2017 11:34 am

I have spent the last hour going through the 16 pages of Braking on the forum it haven't seen this posted.
Our A LWB has drums on the rear and when you brake in a hurry the back locks up causing the back end to slide round which while it is fun I'm pretty sure it's not meant to do that.
The front pads are a bit low and I have a new set here to put in but I can't see that them being low will stop them not working.
Do these have an adjustable brake compensator as the guy before use to tow a trailer with his gig gear in so not sure if something has been adjusted to go with that or it's a bigger issue.

Above the rear axle is a rod that goes to the offside. At the offside is the brake compensator. You may find it is gunked and jammed in the compensation position if lots of towing has taken place.
