Well that may be true Dan, but he drives a 2.8 and you've got a DTi... So your truck will do speeds he can only dream of. Like 90mph, for example

unfortunatly i think the majority of your problem is with your provider.

i know its all virgin v Bt, but. many of my friends have gone back to bt only after a few months of experiencing the lack of quality that virgin could offer.

line quality is of the up most importance to me, as i am a senior admin for a gaming community. so i need my internet to be reliable.

the above test was from this computer i use daily. and whilst IRC, Steam, and TF2 are running. as you can see it has not impacted the results any.

my advice, is if you can switch, switch to BT. it would be the best thing you can every do

please bear in mind, if your not having troubles with your line, then you will prob be fine for the foreseeable future. but if you are experiencing continuing problems, then i would seriously consider switching

I agree to a certain extent above.
But I too need a reliable connection (and fast) but in this area you will be lucky to get 3 to 4meg over a phone line whereas we get 60meg (soon to be 100meg) via Virgin cable.
I admit that earlier this year the network was a right pain in the backside for a few months. It seems to be sorted out now and even the "Superhub" (pile of poo) is behaving itself now after and few updates and I have never had problems for the ten years with Blueyonder/Virgin before this year so I am willing (kinda stuck) to see it out
