Whats everybody doing in October ?

Postby wideformat on Tue May 22, 2012 10:02 pm

Hi All

A friend of mine is organising an off road event in October http://www.adventureoverlandshow.com

I will be going along to give a little support, just a thought how about a few Frontera owners turning up and showing off their vehicles ?

A show thats not all about Land Rovers has got to be worth supporting

Anybody fancy it ? names below please or will I be the only Frontera there.

Doing in October? Not much....

Lyneham - Earth testing on the HV Sub-Stations, Intake and LV Feeder Pillars. Hot oil filtration on four transformers and de-commisioning 2 x 3.5kv gensets.
Buckley - fixing stuff
Yeovil - Site familiarity on the HV, LV & AGL systems.
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been

Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ;) )

Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... 'O-no' the truck.

Comments on 'O-no' the truck may be left here

Thanks for the response lads, the organiser is going to set a side a part of the camping field for Frontera owners.

And on another forum a user called "Tuggy" who now lives in spain sends his best to all FOG members, his name on here was "King of the kitchen" he's making the trip up and looks forward to meeting some old friends.

I am camping for one, Tom the guy who's running the show is setting aside a camping spot for Frontera's and I know another Frontera site is also planning on going.
Tom has left it open and said if I let him know numbers closer to the time he will sort a spot for us, not sure on cost yet I'm sure he will do a deal if there are a few of us.
I was going to email him early September to firm up numbers.

I am seeing him at the LRO show at Billing when a few of the Landy Rally guy's are meeting up and I will sound him out on costs then and report back.
This is the first show of this type he has organised (although he has organised a few other shows) and I wanted to offer some support as any show which is not just based around Land Rover's has to be a good thing.

The show is biased more on overland trips than just green laning and pay and play sites off roading, with talk's from overland trip organisers, technical help, first aid for off roading etc.
As it's the first show of it's type I'm expecting it to be a little rough around the edges as the format takes shape but with support from the 4x4 community there's no reason why it can't become an annual event.

Don't see why not there are loads of people going in large overland 4x4 rigs and truth be told I think a caravan is a much better idea in October
