WHAT A DAY

Never had a day's laning like that before, ever!
Started off with myself, Dave + Amanda (dt1968) Steve (Stevd) Steve's brother in law in a Disco and Mark (2.4i LWB) setting out from Llangollen for a days laning. We got to the canal at the top of Conquering Hero (our first lane) with Stevd passing through it followed by myself with no issues. Next came Dave  Just as he was about to exit the water the motor cut out in a plume of black smoke. Sure enough it had sucked half of the water in the whole of Wales in his airbox :( After a fight to get the injectors out and pop the intercooler pipes off we expelled the water, only for it to start with a distinct knock :? To Dave's credit we carried on the laning and had a really good laugh - with lots of the laughs being at Dave's expense (sorry bud) .
On our way to our next lane we were running down to start point when Dave shouted over the CB that Stevd's wheel had fallen off. Assuming he was joking , I asked him if he was serious. He was :( Steve's N/S/R wheel had parted company from the truck and was in the hedge , when it really could have done with being attached to the car. The studs had pushed through into the drum / disc so we managed to get two nuts on two studs and dumped it in a farmers field (with his permission) while it awaits recovery, so Steve left at that point with his brother in law in his Discovery.
Then there was 3.

The three remaining Fronty's carried on over Whitestones and Scratchy lane , at which point Dave called it a day to go home and let his dog out.
Then there were 2

Me and Mark carried on and did the last lane (Splashy lane) in the dark - a Nice end to a bizarre day!

have to admit it was a tad bizzaar to say the least, but hell, it was all good humuored, and fun. My self and amanda both really enjoyed it, and the team spirit never ceases to amaze me with you club members,, the lads we were with today were top notch. all took it in there stride and everyone offered assistance and a fair portion of p*ss takin too :) . loads of thanx to si (boxcleva) for leading us, and also to his 2 girls for being on gate duty.. these 2 young ladies really are a credit to you si! . a big, massive thankyou also to matt,,steve...& mark for being quickly on hand with the spanners,,, really did appreciate it.
On a down side i did bend a con rod ( or at least it sounds like i may have) but heh, you cant go off road and not expect a war wound or two. The trusty fronty continued on for the rest of the day and never missed a beat, so ill have to investigate further tomorrow. BUT HELL IT WAS FUN !!

For those of you who don't come from a mechanical background, that wheel on the ground should be on Steve's truck ! :?

Who needs wheels on their trucks anyway. In my opinion they are way over rated.

Had a great day yesterday, even with the slight mini hicups. Thanks to you all for getting me off the lane quickly, to the gate openers, and everyone for making it a great laugh.

So managed to get the car back with the help of a discovery  and a trailer. God damn it, im never gonna live it down!!!
