All in all a great day out ... even considering the mishap with the Clutch Slave Cylinder ... mind it was 21 years old and cannot really complain. Thumbs up to the RAC guy. Worked it out it was 1 hour and 40 mins from initial phone call till back on the road again. Cannot argue at that service. He did say he would try his best to get me rolling again as he was a green laner (albeit a motocross one) as well.

Big big big thank you to you guys for hanging around as well. I would of totally understood if you lot headed off as I wouldn't want me to ruin what was a brilliant days driving. All I can say is (quote from Fogman) "We ain't leaving a Fogger behind!!!" I think we have just started a new branch of "FOG Marines" lol.

Hipo ... thanks for organising it and working with Rob to plot the route (looking at the map you just posted we ceratinly covered some distance)

Thanks to Chloe (the wife) for providing some exceedingly good cakes ... and Rob for the picnic blanket ... and Fogman for the tea and coffee making facilities.

Highlights .... those massive divots where we all got some air .... the water splashes so we could act like big kids .... and especially the final night run in the dark through that really tight, twisty turny, lumpy bumpy railway embankment lane.

Will post the few pics I got this afternoon when I have edited out reg plates etc.

Chloe says:

I am glad you all enjoyed the cakes!

Thank you for MickH and Fogman for lettting her ride shotgun.

I thought your wheel would fall off through the divots.

The water splashes were my favourite bit.

My bum hurts after bouncing around all day long

Firstly thanks and well done to Dan for making this happen. It was good to meet some members and have a day playing at what we all enjoy. Between Rob and Dan they did a pretty good job of finding us places to go for quite a few hours,so may in fact that poor old Gary lost out on his fish and chips, although I don't think he would starve after the things he kept pulling out of that tardis of a food bag he had. Nice to have a couple of techy mechy peeps there in the guise of Neal and Fudge. Finally thanks to Chloe for bringing a couple of suitably decorated cakes along and some non techy conversation. Hope we can all meet again and have another go when theres some wet weather on the cards.

from what we could make out from the map and the GPS, yes its the track and the other path is part of the forestry commission. Well thats what I understood it as being. And RatCav (who was acting as our legal advisor lol) gave it the go ahead :P. Sorry Neal, I dont mean to drop you in it there :P

got to say what an awesome day that was, so glad hipo suggested & got it running & thanks to him & rob who both went to long lengths to find all the good lanes as well as keeping us all legal throughout the day
the weather was excellent as was the company & ofcourse the wide & varied cake selection supplied by mrs RatCav [ chloe] although i think the extra weight bringing them was probably responsible for the trooppers breakdown :D by the way did anyone get a pic of me towing the trooper ? cos id like that as a new avatar :D & im also glad that i wasnt the only 1 with an xxl lunch box, despite what mick has said he can tuck it away :D

What happened to foggys spotlights ?

that was fudges doing the, 1 spotlight kept appearing & disapearing from my truck during the trip, think im gona call my truck cyclops now :D

im afraid i didnt get many pics as i was too busy enjoying myself so cheers to those that did

the mud looks like clay today & is well & truly baked on !
& is it just me thats got a neck ache from hell today ? :D

To be honest it was a bit vaugue as to which side was the route and which wasn't. We went with the fact that the other track was closer to the actual forest with all the forestry comission signs on so went on the other one ... well that was my conclusion anyways.

Oh and the decorated cakes:

Image

Most of my pics were already reproced earlier. I however spent most of my time enjoying myself to take more. Chloe tried taking some but couldn't hold the camera still enough and they came out a bit too blurry :D

from the meet point to the break point we did 36.7 miles. and I clocked up a total of about 170miles :) total cost of fuel was about £35 for all 170 miles....not too bad I guess. and no, sorry I didnt get a shot of you towning lol....you were too eager to get off I didnt get a chance to get the camera out lol :P. Altho when the rope snapped I didnt think you had killed your truck too :P it didnt fill me with much confidence, but as I said, it was only a snapped rope.

I was going to say. Its roughly 60 miles from Fogmans to the Premier Inn ... thats 120 miles travel and 40 miles Green Laning. Not too shabby.
