Peak District Laning Day - 24/10/2010 - REVIEW

Postby FUDDY MUCKER on Sun Oct 24, 2010 3:48 pm

Just got back from an excellent, and must I say a beautiful autumn days laning in the Peak District.

A cold, Frosty Start soon turned into a wonderful, semi warm, clear, autumn day.

A meet up of 5 trucks started off in Endon, Stoke at 8am, then off we went in convoy up to The Cat & Fiddle Pub, to meet up with Horses & V6 Power (Rob & Rob) at 9am

Then off we went.

Thanks for John boy for planning the routes. Mrs John Boy (Offical Wallet Keeper) for been a wonderful gate opener and Alex & Spence for been Gate Closers.

A good turn out of 7 Trucks, 5 From FOG and 2 Northern Monkeys Memebers.

No major damage, just the obligatory Scratches for the aptly named "SCRATCHY LANE", then our ROB (V6 Power), had a scary, brown trouser moment, when on a very challenging, rock covered, down hill section, stalled his truck and lost all braking & power steering, ploughed down the hill to the Group of 5 fronty parked up at the bottom, Screaming on the CB ..............

"MOVE OUT OF THE WAY, I GOT NO BRAKES, AND SHUT YOUR DOOR QUICK !!!!"

Luckily, there was a grassy section at the bottom of the hill that he managed to steer his truck onto and stop, without and casualties !!!

Unfortunately, that was the last lane I did, as a family gathering had to take priorty, and I left, but not until I heard on the CB that ROB'S Engine Management light had come on, so I'll wait till he comes on later to update you.

Will post a few piccys later.

Sorry to disappoint, but when you got nearly 2 tonnes of LWB, V6 "b" Series, hurtling at you, you tend to move out of the way quicky and forget about the piccys, but you have got my word ..............

HIS FACE WAS A PICTURE !!!!

CLASSIC !!!!!

Underwear now changed iam ok but i have to say that was a serious brown trouser moment. My truck on the other hand is a bit poorly its makin some bad grindin noises from the front drivers side and the Engine light is still on. i was hoping that a good spanking on the way home would magically make the light go off but it didnt happen. will post some piccys in a bit. any volunteers for a truck diognostic day?
