Wotcher folks...

Given that we've had a couple of folks enquiring as to who's about in Southampton over in the General section, I though I'd take A friend's idea and run with it... So then, who's ion favour of getting a bit of a Southampton area meet sorted???
Doesn't have to be just folks from town, feel free to stick your hat in the ring wherever you're from.

Was thinking of finding a nice little pub in the country to meet at, followed by a little light laning perhaps, and reconvening at said pub for an after-action conference, and possibly a beer and some grub. Nothing too strenuous, more of a chance to get to meet some fellow FOGers and see how it goes from there.

All those in favour say "aye" and stick yer name down,
Jim

Ought to be enough of those kicking about, given proximity to the New Forest, South Downs, etc...
I'll give it a wee while longer, see who else is interested, then start making plans.

Hiya I'd be up for it, though have a few issues at mo, job loss stopped play on Frontera, and working for agency has seen me with a badly broken wrist. Still got my drinking arm though so happy to meet up, maybe be ballast.

Could be worth a giggle. I am getting my baby back soon. Got to chuck a new master cylinder in her but apart from that I will be good to go. I will keep sticking my head in to check up :)

Hmmm, looking promising, this...

Okay then folks, how's about this for an idea... Everyone who's interested stick your name down on the list, along with whatever weekends in October you're free, and I'll work from there.

Right then, I believe the beginnnings of a plan are forming

It would seem there is maximum availability on October 31st, so we'll go for that date. From there, we have 2 options...

1) We make this a Southampton pub gathering, and just pick a suitable venue near the city to gather, compare shiny bits, and eat n drink, etc...

2 ) Start at a pub out in the countryside a little, then go and play on a few lanes.
For this one, I was thinking of using the Bear & Ragged staff as a start point, which is just north of Romsey, on the Stockbridge road. Nice big car-park, family friendly, and easy to find...
Not far north of there, is a belt of BOAT's starting at Broughton, across the Sombornes, and over towards Kings Worthy & Winchester.

Wouldn't be anything too taxing, and not all that far from civilisation at any point, so should be an ideal intro to laning, and a chance to meet some fellow owners for a chat.

Ball's in your court folks :feedback:

Both sound great ideas, I've not actually done anything to the Frontera yet, so limited there. My main problem at the moment is that I can't drive due to a crocked wrist, but would love to meet up some how.

 If the consensus is the laning I would lay money that there will be more than one "shotgun seat" vacant
