AT LAST, FRONTY B 2.2 PERFORMANCE MANIFOLD. x22se & y22se

Postby Wizrdovoz on Sun Jul 19, 2009 9:24 pm

Sorry it took so long, but ive finally done it. The only thing is its for the frontera B 2.2 only ( at the moment ) they are going to go for £215. """"""" BUT """""" the first one, which the pics are of ill sell for £130, But there is a reason for this. As i dont own a frontera i had to jig a standard manifold and cat section bolted together and look at a mates fronty to see what was close. Im 99.9% sure it will fit perfectly, but as i havnt tried it on a car its not 100% it wont touch something. SO, i need someone to work with me and if when they try it its not quite right, ill modify it FREE, but they need to pay the postage back to me, ill return it. Also it fits to the origonal cat section, but it has to be cut a bit before the cat. I will supply fitting instructions, But it is a no brainer. I will be doing a de-cat pipe and cat pipe soon aswell. it will only fit my manifold tho, not the standard manifold. So who is going to be the first performance manifold owner, there is no doubt it will be TONES better than the standard manifold 8) 8) 8)

Lets hope so, they will be missing out if they dont. Ive seen the restricting secondarys on the down pipe/cat section, fit one of these and the and the ecotech wont know what hit it :D

All i need to do it for other models is a down pipe and someone with a spare few hours to come and see me so i can see where the clearancess are. For all i know it might be the almost the same.

Well, it's not really a performance engine, but maybe around 8-10hp, but it's not only hp, its the torque. This will help alot. More pulling power.

Looks like a nice bit of kit, that...

Wonder if it worth making one up for the 2.8??

Its only painted with heat proof paint. It does burn off. It does'nt matter what you put on steel manifolds, it will come off. On the other hand, for £340 i can do them from stainless steel. But is it really worth it? it wont give more power, just look better 8)

If anyone wants to go for it, but is worried it wont fit, well dont be. I would'nt have made it for it not to fit. Im very confident it will fit, but if by some small chance it does'nt, ill sort it straight away. I did'nt do it to waste someones time, or my own. Im only interested in making quality parts

Thats what i was wondering. It isn't worth getting it in stainless because its not a show car and its just going to get dirty anyway. Can't say i've even noticed my current exhaust header

The Dti manifold does not lend itself to tubular steel construction due to the turbo position

Hi wizrdovoz

Looks good 8)
Am I tempted :?:
YES I am
Seeing as my exhaust is leaking where the down pipe joins the manifold (correct me if I'm wrong, this is part of the cat system?) I think I could give this ago and work with you onit.

A couple of Q's 1st :?:

Looking at the pics, I take that the lambda sensor thingy will now connect into the manifold and the cat pipe will be cut further down?
Will it need an adaptor once the cat pipe has been cut to length in order to fit the manifold or will the cat pipe fit directly into the manifold down pipe?
Will it need any sort of gasket/seal or will exhaust paste do the sealing ?
The £130 cost, is delivery inculded in that or is it + delivery?

Cheers
