we could always change every month this covers more of the place . i think most of us will travel work and wifes permitting of coarse . or draw up a list ask who has been were and prices . and give each place a marks on how dificult it is and wots on offer , toilets places to eat near by. or if over night is aloud and have a scottish barbecue meet when we find the right place to go coarse permitting ..

Yup, like the sound of that. I would suggest the second weekend of each month as the first weekend after payday usually involves having to do things with the other half, well, it does for me anyway. Second weekend everyone should still have some money left for fuel before the end of the month blues comes round again.

Just back from hols in New York (absolutely awesome!!!) so missed the attempted meet up at the weekend.

do you all want to combine a monthly meet with a p&p ??i thought it was a meeting ,as in a social,
i have to start thinking again .
i was thinking of a meeting of minds , how can we develop the scottish scene within F.O.G.
get more scottish members interested in the social side and the offroad side .

i thought we were meaning pay and play! i dont really think i would be too interested in a pub meet or that sort of thing, for me just offroad play meets 8) with a social aspect ie. barbecue and/or camping in the summer at playsite  !

Coming late to the thread - sorry, been away on business.

I couldn't commit to anything I'm afraid. Weekdays are full of work (lots of travel), and most weekends are either home stuff or SORC (or general motorsport safety). Saying that, if it's happening, I'll try to fit in!

ill pour the cold water. not meaning to be rude to anyone but i aint interested in a social night out at pub or the likes, i purely want offroading, we can arrange days out on this fine forum and then everyone gets to meet each other at playsite! why not have a poll and see how many want social, how many want play and how many want both. putting a pin in the centre of scotland brings perth/fife, there are sites in this area we can go to and play, and socialise there if it takes your fancy.(apart from nortrak (which seems to be closed) is there any sites further north anyway?)

thats fine . you and dicky dont have to come to a social meet . so you wont be to dissapointed when theres no p&p ,
only members trying to get the scottish F.O.G. on the map . sometimes its not all about offroading , as some of the
"new to 4x4s" may think . anyway i will arrange a "social "meet" in the central belt in the near future and all are invited .
regardless there views.

i think stuart is saying he would rather have a meet with members who would rather drink first and play at a later date .
and we would rather drive off road than drink but we do have an invite to go drinking at the other side of the country and play some other time . :butt: :butt:

Re: MONTHLY MEET

Postby Drift on Fri Feb 29, 2008 11:18 pm

I think all Stu is wanting is a monthly social meet like the Midlands crew have, where they meet, chat kick tyres and arrange trips out and pay and plays, the Midlands meets are a fantastic sucsess.
viewforum.php?f=39

They get the chat out the way in the pub and swap ideas then when they are in the mud they go for it.

You cant flame Stu just for trying to organise a social meet ?

Appeciated some of you live a long way away from each other, but its only and invite.
