post em here please.

Well it was a cracking day out. Got to meet Sir Doris(phil) and Barry. Didn't do too much damage  But I think we all had a great time. And we even went a few places some of the tricked up LR's couldn't get too...

Here's some of me pics. I got there a bit earlier than the others and so wandered round feeling lonely taking random shots.

Hoo Hoo!!! Just back from Cowm, A cracking site!!! Met Tim, followed him around for a good while, DIDNT break anything of note. A bit of a bent exhaust mount that rattled all the way home, tore the corner piece off the back bumper but I needed a new one anyway as it was held on with cable ties. Snapped the rear number plate in two and lost the other piece. A slight ding in in the passenger sill. And I need to do something about both my towing socketsMy rear wiper stopped working for some reason as well as my auxilliary driving lights. Im also thinking some crud got into my handbrake drums as now my handbrake doesnt work properly, so I will replace those over the next day or two.

So then, on to the good stuff! I made it up a hill on the first go that a heavily modified Range Rover failed to do after 4 or 5 attempts. I pulled a Land Rover out of a ditch on my last lap and I swam past a Land Rover that got swamped and was being winched out. Did both the yellow and the orange routes with not much hassle. Had to take a couple of runs at a few of the tougher hills but I always made it up in the end and as you can imagine the tracks were getting into a worse state of repair as the day wore on. I now know that I want that lift kit to arrive sooner rather then later as I kept wincing everytime I heard that dreaded crunching sound. Mudflaps will probably go as well, since somehow I managed to tear one in half. The new MT's were working really well throughout the day and I doubt if I would have been able to do half the stuff on my AT's.

I didnt get many pictures as I was too busy driving and my passenger friend was too excited to hold the camera steady for the most part. So I here are the only good pics that arent blurred or out of focus or of sky or various parts of my dashboard, quite a few of them seem to be of Tims behind for some reason.

And Finally the hill that the modified Rangie failed to climb. Im very proud of this one!

Was a good day out, got a few things on my snag list to sort out on the motor now, the front suspension needs some rework as its like a bucking bronco on bumpy inclines to such a degree that its bouncing the front wheels off the floor. also battery need securing(yup i forgot to do it) as it jumping and shorting electrics at top of a red route incline hence cutting out engine wasn't good.
But saying it was the cars first trip out it got me there and back in one piece and quite suprised me with its abilities compared with a shogun I had a few years a go which liked to get stuck (even if diff locks) at the first sign of a bit of mud

An update on the Cowm thing, Looks like I did a bit more damage then I thought. The cross piece that holds the rear facing ends of the torsion bars has a very big dent in it, The car is level and seems to handle fine but Id like to get one from a scrappers anyway just to make sure. Driveway is covered in mud now after powerwashing the dirt off and that ding in the sill is a bit bigger then it looked when it was covered in mud. Maybe I should have let the mud dry and painted over it? :D
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it!

my damage list at the monent seems to be a slipping fanbelt, and a totally cr@p handbrake, I've left the mud on mine i quite like the look....

Oooh Errr.... That bar that holds the ends of the torsion bars is also the support for the centre prop shaft bearing and its welded to the chassis rails. Im starting to keep my eyes open for another 2.2 LWB for spares and so forth.
