you obviously haven't read this then

bobbinsjob wrote:Well, good news everyone. I had a lengthy phone call with my contact at Rockingham Raceway last night. We definately have Rockingham as our venue, just the date to be fianlised but it will almost certainly be a Sunday in September 2008. My Brother-in-Law is a rally organiser and will be holding a stage rally there in sept next year. We will hopefully have a lunchtime slot for the attempt, for about an hour. The circuit will be a layout customised to suit our needs, ie. at least 2 miles long accomodating at least 200 frontys. :D :D :D :D :D

He did offer a date in early March 2008 but with the weather we get in this country, chances are it could be snowing or at least very wet, which would not make for a great weekend of camping, BBQ's and an Autojumble, so I opted for the September gig.

One other bonus is that for a nominal fee (TBA) fog may have exclusive use of the 4x4 course at Rockingham as I'm sure a lot of us will want a litlle play espescially on the non-damaging section, (Bro-in-Law did it in a Fiat X19 so it cant be that bad).

The only drawback I can see at the moment is that we will still have to pay the entrance fee to the Raceway but I am negotiating a reduced rate for FOG Members. 8) 8) 8) 8)

I hope this answers a few questions and puts a few doubts at rest and I will keep everyone informed of any more developements.

Excellent stuff. 163(ish) miles for me. So if I fill up the tank, drive there and we dont have to drive around for too long I should have just enough juice to get home again! :D :D :D

Seriously though, if they have an off road track do we get to play after? What would be better then bashing a world record over the head and then pursuing your hobby afterwards?
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it!
