Swindon to Kent

Postby Retro Pedro on Sat Jun 29, 2013 9:37 pm

Bit of a long shot but I thought I'd try my luck in the first instance.
Just won myself a collection only heavy duty trolley jack on ebay and need to collect it from Swindon for onward travel to Kent if anybody is passing that way with an empty boot and is prepared to help out.
Thanks in advance if anybody can oblige.

Im off to Swindon in the morning, but dont know when I will be headed towards Chatham atm. Your welcome to store it at my gaff (near Brize Norton) until such time that transport can be sorted. How big is it?
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been

Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ;) )

Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... 'O-no' the truck.

If Frank collects, I have a few bits for him that I need to arrange a meeting to deliver.
I could bring the jack to the woods?

EDIT
Just double read your reply Frank and reckon I've missed the point that it's today (Sunday) that your going to Swindon, so don't know if I can get it sorted in time.

Cheers Frank and Jimbo
This is the jack in question - I reckon it will be double the size of a standard 2-3 tonne trolley jack but will try and get defined details later.
I won the auction yesterday so still need to contact the seller today to find out potential collection details.
If it comes together as a plan for me to utilise your offers of help that would be great, but will fully understand if it turns out this jack is a bit on the maooussive side to fit in a spare space in a vehicle.
I'll post up later today any details I can get from the seller and perhaps take it from there.
Thanks again, Pete

Looking at the pic and using the battery gun in the background as a scale I reckon the jack (less handle) is about a metre long. It'll fit in the truck no probs. Speak to the vender, sort a time and I will go get. During the week I go thru swindon daily... about 07:30 in the morning and any time between 16:30 thru 18:00 dependant on what time I get fed up at work and decide to bin it for the day.
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been
