Just a thought about the GWRA?

Postby frontydan on Tue Sep 09, 2008 8:50 am

Hi All,
i don't know this may have been considered but having been reading the posts about the GWRA and trying to get it recognised and possible media coverage.
Being a radio 2 listener ( I know, i know, i'm only 33 but anyways....) As Chris Evans is on Mon - Fri from 5PM till 7PM, i know he has some guests on his show talking about events coming up.
Could it be an option to get a member on his show to tell the country about the GRWA? As it is a charity raiser it can't do any harm to ask.

Like i said it is only a thought but could it be an avenue worth exploring further????

Cheers
Dan

Trying to get what info you need to get across to the media is a nightmare.
Have looked into contacting all areas and when you go on the BBC site you have to trawl through pages of "Contact Us" just to go back to where you began.

Give it a go please!!!

If all members involved contact their local Radio Stations or News groups using the Promo leaflets stating it is for charity you should get a free plug.

A few other members have contacted me about press coverage but not much happens.
Another problem we have is so many want to take part but not many have the time or incentive to help get the message out there.

Will be working today if time allows on a final push which requires every member pushing the promo sites on other sites, blogs, web sites and all.
In the internet world it's all about traffic and hits. The more we get the more we receive notice and then it becomes news.

Check the link in my signature and paste it where you want.
More to follow....

Hi Guys,
i have posted a mail to the Chris Evans show and finally after about 6 attempts i have had a reply saying that my mail has been forwarded to Johnnie Saunders the sports bloke, who i know is the guy who arranges the short slots about different sporting events that are going on.................... So thats it so far.

I know that the e-mail could be a fob off but at least it's a reply, i'll keep you posted with any developments.

Cheers
Dan
