Sponsor money!!!!

Postby bobbinsjob on Sun Oct 12, 2008 8:37 am

Just to keep you up to date, On Friday I opened a treasurers account with Halifax Bank for all sponsor monies to be paid into. All the paperwork has been done with the bank manager and i am now waiting on an account number and sort code. As soon as i have these i will post them on here for you to start paying your sponsor money in then we can get an idea as to how much we actually raised.

Remember, just because we have already done the event, doesnt mean people still cant donate

It shouldn't be a problem. Just let Ian (bobbinsjob) know how much you deposited and when (PM would probably be best) so he can keep track of it all
If you're sat there thinking things just can't get any worse, just wait......

just sitting here watching the BTCC, and it mentioned rocking, as it did the wife asked isn't that where you done the GWRA for charity, i said yes, then she asked how much did we raise, me looked blank, (not hard)

so i am asking, so can give the wife an answer,

and did we get certificates from the charities to say thanks,

Hi Andy, my humblest apologies to you and anyone else who was wondering. My life took a bit of a nose dive after the attempt, as some of you know and I completely forgot about this. The total amount raised (well that was actually sent to me or the account) was quite dissapointing considering how many people attended and also my company refused to give as one of the nominated charities was to do with animals

As you know, not long after the attempt, me and the wife split up and as she was the counter signatury on the account i got her to accompany me to close the account so that she could not get to it.

The total raised was just under £150, like i said, pretty poor as most of that was raised by Steve and Phil strutting their stuff around the campsite. As such, I thought it better to give a £30 donation to each of the top 5 charities rather than split it into tiny ammounts.

As for certificates. None have been recived, nor has there been any confirmation from GWR that we actually set a record.

I put nearly 2 years into organising the GWRA and am particularly gutted that everyones efforts didn't ammount to much return.
Hope this answers your questions.

If there is anything else you want to know mate just ask.

Ian
