Anyone up for a reccy mission? Sunday 21st November 2010

Postby jamez2 on Sun Oct 31, 2010 9:36 pm

as per a suggestion on my getting stuck thread, wondering if anyone fancies a bit of reconnaissance down in the south east to try and figure out a route for a nice day off greenlaning, there seems to be some 226 lanes in kent stretching up and down, but the hard part is finding a clear and easy route through them? anyone up for helping me with this at some point??

Cheers James

Was having a trawl earlier and came across this
http://www.southerntrails.co.uk/
I know the fella is into trial bikes but might help find a few in Kent and East Sussex.
I've got the OS maps running with Memory Map loaded on my laptop so that might help. Just need one of the teccy guys to show me how to run the GPS via the PDA and we might be going down the right road.
I'm up for doing the reccies but the paint brush, then the leafer have got to be tick off the to do list first.

anyone who wants to come or thinks they can come up with a route
see here
http://www.qwerf.com/greenlaning/index.php

good site with a list off a lot of lanes, half of which have videos. think we've just gotta sort out a solid route
start point and all bits of travelling in between each lane so we dont get lost to an end point

I maybe interested if you cant let me know where you are starting just to see how far I got to travel early in the morning (dont do early).

Also if I can get my shocks fitted in time, want to test them out. Unless there is some kind sole out there that is willing to help me fit them  ? Willing to travel as I have no space and tools to do the job

im still up for it. i know greg cant due to other commitments but if we can still get a few people to come i still wanna go. i was saying to greg not really much point in coming all the way down near me as not a great deal of lanes down here and a few are tro'd to.

Anyone up for suggesting a start point

Mid Essex or Herts. That way me and Bobbins can join in

Seriously though, I'm gonna have to pull out as my diesel tanks drier than a desert (unless it is Essex  )

James - can we safely assume this is not going to happen? Personally I've to finish off one of them jobs indoors over this weekend and also want to finish off one of the mods on my Fronty.
