ROFL Mark. :D

No worries.. playing rough huh.. could be interesting. I'd like to see you do a bit with the articulation of your vehicle around that site. I reckon there might be a couple of challenges for you.

I'll leave your name off the list for the moment and see what happens when you've got the vehicle completed.

IT MIGHT happen that we have to split for 4 groups of 4... depends on whether or not a few other people express interest. I honestly don't mind if there are 4 groups of 4 vehicles.. it just adds a little to the planning of the lanes. And means I'll have to have alternative lanes and possibly work that out.

Not a prob really as I'll be looking into the lanes tomorrow night with the Hampshire GLASS rep.

Will post more after that.

I'll have you know .... I am no slacker

I have far more important things to think about than doing a lane

Just a brief update folks..

I now have a list of about 20 lanes to go and test out then I'll take a combination of them to use for Saturday.

So anyone else up for the weekend, or just the laning day, show yourself now or forever be stuck on tarmac!! :D

Sounds like a good weekend will be in order then.. Let's hope I don't embarass myself too beadly, being a noob and all, heh..

On a serious note though, 2 questions...
1) Will my totally factory standard 2.2 LWB be up to the job, and
2) What kit is recommended to bring with ??

I'm aiming to get some new tyres sorted out, and spares, so I'll have a pair of pretty good slightly road biased AT's on the front plus a spare one, and was going to order 3 colway's to go on the back axle, plus a spare for the 6th wheel... Any further thoguths appreciated though..

Additionally rangaKoo, I might come up n tag along if you're doing much the week of the 22nd - enforced holiday, heh, so probably gonna be bored silly...

(Edited...NO swearing please.....M/C)

Apologies M/C - just realised what's been edited, hehe.. I'll watch myself in future

Hi mate,

No drama's if you want to come up, but the 20th is the date (20th Jan or next weekend basically). You would be most welcome. rob23976 is also coming over to spend a few hours out laning while his missus goes shopping and stuff in B'stoke.

Yes, your factory standard vehicle will do just fine for the weekend (both this weekend coming AND the one in March) There isn't a problem as all lanes will be pre-driven and tested passable.

Other kit that could be useful to start accumulating would be most likely;

CB or PMR radio (CB is probably the better option)
A foldable shovel (incase you need to dig out something)
A good set of towropes (5 Ton ropes are probably best, 2 or 3 of them if possible)
A couple of "D" shackles (perhaps 4 might be the idea)

Nothing else is really needed.. but if I think of something, or someone else thinks of something I'm sure it'll be posted.

Hampshire March Laning

Postby Bernie on Sun Jan 21, 2007 1:24 pm

Hey Si,

I've only just recently become a member of Muddyfronteras and member of this site and we're (me and other half) really interested in coming to this Hampshire Laning weekend - If there is still room, that is, for the whole weekend, laning, camping, playing...

I'm also interested in being one of the marshalls on sunday for the P& P day, but I've got no winch, no CB or no PMR. So, I was wondering, can I still be a marshall, I have got tow ropes, though!!!

So, if there's room left, we'd like to be added to the 3 lists!

Cheers mate,

Bernie & Ida

Bernie,

Consider yourself added mate... :D

You've just snagged the last place for Saturday as well, hehehe.

Thank you for the offer for marshalling, will see how it goes..

Ok, as for Saturday now there is no more places left. If anyone wants to come along and camp on Saturday night or do P&P on Sunday then your more than welcome to.

I now need numbers.. ie WHO is coming with you on Saturday night.. :) Only one person has replied.

Seeing as it all coming together nicely, I have a question...

How do the P&P folks stand for 2nd drivers for the sunday??? I ask cos I was toying with bringing the previous owner of my Fronty (ie. my lil' sis) along so she can have some fun n games...

Either way, I'm still definitely up for the whole weekend.. :-)
