In other news I have placed an ad in the for sale section. Should be up by the time you guys get home from playing. Maybe if anyone is interested and still down this way, you could pop in for a poke around it.

Mike :)

Not to worry, there will be others, have no fear.
You missed a good day though, even if my nagivation did go a little askew a couple of times (I'm blaming HCC for re-classifying bits of byways all the bloody time - that, or I'm too used to the M25, heh). Shame there weren't more locals, but as I said, next time, etc. Got some bloomin' good lanes covered. Even enough rain of late to give all the cars a patina of good honest mud, although a little bit got scraped off on some bushes.

Many thanks to Greg n Sal, Pete n Sue, Steve, Rich & James, Trev for coming along, and for Paul for putting up with my driving all day, hehe... Nice to meet all the new faces, see some old ones again. Interesting to note though, the SE lot was entirely SWB's, while the Southern and SW contingent all turned out in Diesel LWB's.
Couple of photies below (must get my camera fixed)

And the SE shorties...

Down the wrong lane, Practice a turn around.

Then find it was the best lane cos the "right" one turned into a bridleway half way down.

First of all, many thanks to Jim for organising a brilliant days laning and to Trev for assisting with his techie aids with the lane info.
Good to have meet up with the Southern Foggers who made us very welcome.
Fantastic contrast of lanes encompassing open landscapes, tight scratchy lanes, long wooded runs all mixed in with mud.
Really enjoyable lengthy runs (you lucky buggers with all that on your doorstep). Would have had even more but the local council came up on the blind side reclassifying some lanes to bridal paths. Good bit of banter over the CB, mainly at Jimbo's expense for taking the wrong turnings, but all in good fun.
Ended the day with a nice meal and beer near Basingstoke.
Here are the piccies that Sue took (my wifey) on her first day out in our Fronty. That was my cunning plan to get more green cards for the future. Worked because she said 'yes' to Bala next year if we can book into a B&B or such like.
As can be seen, views of the lovely countryside that we drove across and the balance taken from inside the car on the move. Apologies for the reflected images of my ice scrapper and sunglass case, but she wouldn't get out and run behind taking piccies.

I'm starting to get bad feelings about this, hehe.
To everyone else, cracking pictures, all, thanks again for coming along. Definitiely feeling a bit outclassed by Trev's Starship Enterprise; can see me upping the score technologically for next time, to at least MemoryMap and a GPS reciever, hehe.

Nah, old school rules, still I guess it's hard to read a lappy the wrong way up! Not experienced this mappy technology, very impressed, respect to gadget man, even with the dodgy accent! :dance:

recipe for the finest november saturday.....

to prepare;

- take several used frontys (any vintage will do), condition with several gallons of fuel
- measure a narrow greenlane and cut it in half, force the fronty's through the gap - note, this will be very tight!
- leave to stand while the the host decides which way up the map should be
- cook each fronty in a jus of mud and water all day, most should run with the temp guage in the red. if in doubt check gregs leafer as a guide

to serve;

- when ready, adorn the freshest fronty with loads of gadgets
- place the all in a piece of in deepest hampshire woodland - any direction will do but sideways normally is best
- garnish with cracking of cb radio

apres laning;

- wash down with a couple of beers (or red wine & coke!!!!!)
- generally have a good laugh (not always about wilberfoce though)
- remember to smile all the (long) way home

this isnt any greenlaning, this is Marks & Spencer greenlaning

what a day, thanks to Jim and everyone who came along, hampshire rocks!
