Hampshire & Berkshire 4x4 Response Group

Hampshire & Berkshire 4x4 Response Group is now operating and is calling for volunteers to join up in order that in the next couple of months (once H&S and competency checks are all carried out) we can start getting ready to respond.

As you will find we now have a functional forum (all be it that we are still transferring folks over from the old forum) and we have a functional website which is still in the process of being made.

Anyway, please, if you are at all interested pop along to the website and read some of the information available there, OR pop in to the forum and join up and ask questions.. after that if you are interested in becoming a 4x4 responder then you can register your interest.
Once your registration of interest has been seen to and accepted then you will be allowed access to the area of the forums for responders.

Please note the following:

Hampshire and Berkshire 4x4 Response Group is part of the National 4x4 Response Network.

We are all volunteers who have placed our vehicles, skills and equipment at the disposal of the community in times of need, whether it be flooding, a major incident, or the need to access a remote area to help someone in distress.

We provide community four wheel drive support when the conditions and terrain are severe.

We are not a search and rescue organisation, but can put our vehicles to use in support of SAR organisations, or the police, ambulance and Fire and Rescue Services, in conjunction with other charitable organisations such as the British Red Cross, WRVS, RNLI, St. John's Ambulance and local councils.

We provide transport to people and places cut-off by flooding, access to places surrounded by bad terrain, and a means of transporting relief supplies and relief personnel to such places.

This service is provided on a voluntary basis and we are available 365 days a year, 7 days a week and 24 hours a day, whatever the weather or conditions. If you are interested in learning more about Hampshire and Berkshire 4x4 Response Group, please e-mail joining@hampshire4x4response.co.uk

Ok folks, that's taken directly from some of the literature that is being prepared.

At this point the FOLLOWING URL's work and all go to the same place:

http://www.hampshire4x4response.co.uk/
http://www.berkshire4x4response.co.uk/

http://www.hampshire4x4response.co.uk/forum/
http://www.berkshire4x4response.co.uk/forum/

It's up to you which one you use.

But if your located in Hampshire or Berkshire then if you want to become involved then please go take a look.

Remember however that the website is still being constructed as it was only put up yesterday and the forum the night before! (Also remember that the forum members are not all transferred over at present as they are being booted slowly off the old temporary forum).

See you there.
