Hello from a new owner

Postby 1packabs on Wed Jun 01, 2016 10:40 pm

Hi.
This is my first post to say hi.
My reason for joining is because I've just taken ownership to a frontera today.
I've brought a 2001 Lwb 3.2 v6 petrol automatic limited with black leather interior and in metallic dark blue.
I've already named it Sherman. As I own a smart car for my daily running around owning this is from one extreme to another.
It's not bad really but it needs some serious TLC. Some serious valeting is required to bring it up to my standard.
I only paid £800 for it. 3 previous owners and 125k miles. But a clean new MOT.
My reason for buying a frontera is to tow my trailer. As I'm building a kit car I'm at a point in the build where the kit car needs transporting to have specialist work doing to it. Painting, interior, engine etc. More about that later.
Problem is after a lot of research finding car that will tow up to 2.8 tonne is quite difficult.
Landrovers are to expensive. Japanese ones are quite scary with parts etc. Not slagging off any make I decided on a frontera.
I'm going to restore it to its former glory. Would you like a thread on its progress through the next month or so?
Photo below of Sherman.
