I'm back

5 years after selling my 2.2 petrol fronty, I've bought a new project.... 2003 2.2 dti olympus for a whopping £300 due to the previous owner putting petrol into it and running the engine till it coughed and spluttered!
Worst case scenario... New pump which I have one on standby hoping I might get away with a tank drain and system flush...fingers crossed.. Other than that it's mint!

Update
Well so far, I've drained the fuel, new fuel filter, stripped down the inlet manifold cleaned all the usual gunk out of the manifold... Found the egr was completeley funked up to the point of not working.... Cleaned it and got it working perfectly, checked all fuel lines, injector seals.... All fine, leak off pipes look brand new.... Rebuilt manifold primed pump....eventually got it started although rough. In limp mode with eml on.... Cleaned all connectors, replaced all vac pipes apart from the fiddly one at the back of block.....still the same.... ordered a new map and crankshaft sensor, which arrived yesterday... Changed the map....voila! Running perfect

Now, I'm waiting for a replacement locking nut key, so I can put new pads on, new tyres all round, change the brake fluid as it's looking rather dodgy, general service and she is finally ready for the road.... Car cost 300, total spend on parts including tyres 490... Whopping total of 790.... Not bad for an 03 olympus I think
