Hi all

New to the group, and unfortunately joined too late with my broken fronty to go to the annual meet. Only my second frontera, traditionally a land rover man then moved on to Nissans, but thought I'd try a frontera for a change, not encouraging so far though. Within a few weeks of purchase I realised the rear diff had been leaking as rear cover had rusted through and starved the diff of oil which knackered the main bearings, so now its busted. Been told that unlike a landrover or Nissan its nearly impossible to remove and change the diff Aline as the half shafts get jammed in and are virtually impossible to remove. So in search of a complete rear axle now. I'm in sunny Clacton on Sea in Essex and seems almost no parts in the local area. Anyway enough babbling from me, nice to join some like minded people and hope I can get to a pay and play day to join you all soon, Rob.

Hi mate and welcome to the forum. The rear bearings can be changed but you will need a puller to get the shaft out then a press to put the new bearings on . Any good garage should have the equipment to carry out this job. I had mine done on both of my shorty's!!!
