Back after an absence!

Postby sc-em on Fri Dec 27, 2013 12:02 pm

Well, I must admit, having had my trusty 2.5, then a Disco 1, and sold them both, I now feel the need to once again have a handy 4 x 4 for chucking things in and generally going for a play.
I think I like the sound of a 2.8 as the economy doesn't seem too bad...just need to find and drive.
Anyway, hi to all again! :D

Thanks mate. Kind of you although hopefully there will be some closer. In fact there is an N reg nearby at £999, but is that a bit on the dear side?

Thought the economy was better on the 2.8 in general and it's an Isuzu engine isn't it? Not averse to any really, just like the sound of the 2.8. lol :)

2.8 better on fuel than the 2.5??? I know they're abit slower but more reliable not sure on the economy though??

I did wonder myself. You would advise a 2.5 then? As long as it isn't petrol I guess. The 2.3TD I first had was a willing workhorse it has to be said.

£999 not a bit over priced? I was going to maybe just put £800 in front of him?
Any major issues or things worth looking out for that may cause issues in the short term?

imo the 2.8 is the most sought after a series model and so getting your hands on a good one at a lower price than £1000 is getting harder... also winter time 4x4s are in greater demand,i guess you could wait and maybe travel to the other side of the country a few times for views etc and incur costs but if that were me and like in this case for you it was local id go have a good look and try to broker a deal !

Good plan. I may wait and give it a day or so after a viewing. If it's meant to be it will. lol

My thoughts exactly although I was thinking a bit earlier with a hand full of notes. Lol. Can't be the market for selling cars just after the Christmas spending spree.
