Suspended until September at least then
I was wondering about this one recently. September sometime it is then
I was waiting till Fuddy was sorted, September is a bit hectic for me
I am not climbing a mountain in October!
Air is fresher and the views are crisper, January is the best time
If you want a qualified Mountain leader to help, and I can make it be glad to offer my assistance.
(By the way did up watkin down southern ridge this week with my cadets !!!!)
Might even bring trusty if I can afford the fuel (thanks gordon NOT !)
Hey nice one, it was the Watkin path I was thinking of, been a few years since Ive been up there, its a nice lung burster on the first stretch
Yes, bit of a stomp ! I do enjoy the southern ridge though. New cafe was maxed out as well.....
Got to do Moel Siabod (what a scramble up the ridge) and Cadir Edris via the mynnford path finally !
Moel Siabod ahhha I know that inside out
My old mountaineering club has a hut and a cottage at the foot in Capel Curig, we had a FOG meet there a few years ago, there is even a green lane that goes up the side
I would be up for this. I've been threatening the wife that I would go up Snowden this year. Just haven't got round to it yet.
Patience is a Virtue engineered by a Frontera...
Did this ever happen ?????
If not , but it still wants to go ahead then my offer still stands
In case anyone else from Frontera`s wants to go walking I`m glad to offer advice and assistance.
It didnt happen. Thread either got lost in the wilderness or Dwifty was just plain too lazy
Still up for it. Maybe in April or summat when the weather is better.
he was told there was no bar at the top, plus he has trouble climbing the stairs
flying solo, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Actually there is a bar at the top of snowdon, well cafe ! If its open and the trains are running that is !
The only steps on Snowdon are from near the cafe to the cairn on top, all of oh 2 meters ! Unless you`re coming up
the miners track that is......
Warning - Old Thread Resurection.
I guess this event/activity did not happen (previous post was nigh on 3 years ago)
However, the reason for this post was to let you know that my sister walked to the summit and back yesterday - yes, in the snow and ice, with ice axes and crampons.
I've never known her attempt anything like this before, and was amazed to hear she was atempting it. Aparrently it was arranged as a 40th birthday/mid life crisis type of present by her fiends.
Anyway, I'm proud of my little sis (on the right)
